Project Description

Farmhouse with Repurposed Cabinets

It’s always exciting when we can hep a client re-purpose assets they want to keep while still reinventing the space. That’s exactly what we were able to do in this home, featured in Our Home in the Finger Lakes magazine. For this client the goal was to keep her existing cabinetry for practical and aesthetic reasons.  She also  needed more prep space and better lighting. So that’s what we set about to create.

  • The space was opened up allowing light to flow from end to end by opening a wall for an eat-at-bar and adding a french country patio door on the opposite wall.

  • The existing cabinetry was re-purposed in new places and enhanced with beautiful ribbed glass to enhance the country feel.  Custom pieces were made to match where needed.

  • Being a quilter, the client wanted to add touches of her passion so we designed  the white ceramic tile to the area above the stove in a quilt-like pattern to balance the offset of the wall cabinets and add to the farmhouse concept.

  • The blue-grey tones, including engineered stone for the counter tops, and the deep brown floor add richness to the existing white and balance the room’s color scheme.
